Grandbaby Colic

Our little grandson is having a terrible time with Colic. He was a preemie so that is part of the problem. But his Dad, our first son, also had problems with Colic.

The treatment has changed. The medicines used in 'the old days' no longer is used. It worked back then but it is not used today.

I feel so bad when he screams in pain for hours on end. He is such a sweet little baby. His temperament is wonderful. His pain is a nightmare. Everything Mommy and Daddy are doing is not working.

I realized when I had my children that I would give about anything for them to not experience pain. I couldn't do it then and I cannot do it now.

I just want him to be over this!! I would take the pain for him, too, if only I could.

Our Little Easter Bunny

Saturday

I have started late into the day.

I think I will sweep my floors and dust.

Tomorrow is Easter. How will you celebrate?

Don't let it just pass as another Sunday of do nothing.

Put aside some time for you and your family to go to church.

It's a good thing for you and for them. It can teach them right from wrong.

I think I like Blogging

When I started this blog, I wondered if I would stick to it. It is a great diversion from reality.

Well, I find that it is fun. I really do not have an agenda but it is a great stress reliever. I wake up wondering what I can post.

Although my life is pretty much limited these days, I still have a life.

I woke up this morning thinking about blogging. I thought back a few years ago and realized how different my life is.

Twenty years ago, I did not own a computer, never dreamed I would have one much less have Internet access. I even have cable high speed. I did not have a cell phone but I've had a few now. I did not have a car with a sun/moon roof but I do now.

My kids were all at home. I miss those days for sure and wish I could go back for a little while. They have grown up and have lives of their owns, which they should. It's not normal for a child to stay childish. I did not have a grandbaby but I do now.

I wonder where I will be in 10 years. I doubt I'll be here in 20.

Life is so short so I have to live what I have and look for the happy. So, that's what I'm trying to do. Look for the happy.

A Letter from Grandpa

Guess you heard that 68% of "the youth vote" went to Obama. My granddaughter called this morning to tell me she was one of them. I replied with this e-mail:

The election of Obama comes down to this. Your grandmother and I, your mother and dad, other productive wage-earning taxpayers will have their taxes increased and that means less income. Less income means: we will have to cut back on basic purchases, gifts and handouts. That includes firing the Hispanic lady who cleans our house twice a month. She just lost her job. We can't afford her anymore.

What is the economic effect of Obama's election on you personally? Over the years, your parents and grandparents have given you thousands of dollars in food, housing, cash, clothing, gifts, etc., etc. By your vote, you have chosen another family over ours for help. So in the future, if you need assistance with your rent, money for gas, tires for your car, etc....call 202-456-1111. That's the telephone number for the Office of the President of the United States . I'm sure Mr. Obama will be happy to send a check from his personal or business accounts or leave cash in an envelope taped to his front door.

It's like this. Those who vote for the president should consider what the impact of an election will be on the nation as a whole and not just be concerned with what they can get for themselves (welfare, etc.).. What Obama voters don't seem to realize is that the government's money comes from taxes collected from taxpaying families. Raising taxes on productive people means they will have less money to spend on their families.

Congratulations on your choice. For future reference, you might attempt to add up all you've received from us, your mom, Mike's parents and others and compare it to what you expect to get over the next four years from Mr. Obama.

To congratulate Mr. Obama and to make sure you're on the list for handouts, write to:

The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW
Washington, DC 20500

Love you kids, but call the number listed above when you need help.

Sunday Sunday

SUNDAY SUNDAY....the title is posted in this box because the cute blog graphic covers it up....

Here it is Sunday again already. Life is certainly screaming by us all. I was sitting here thinking about what I should post for this Sunday. I decided to just ramble for a few minutes and see what happens.

About politics, the liberals of America are spending our tax money like crazy. It's money they do not make or own. They are just printing it.

While, the conservatives of America are wondering if it is time to start storing food, buying flashlights that do not require batteries, taking what money they have left OUT of the stock market.

Whatever you believe in politics, it is time to take a hard look at the future of our GREAT Country.

North Korea has fired a rocket that had the potential of reaching our land. Did you know that? Remember in the campaign, Biden stated that Obama would be tested within the first six months of his presidency. Well, howdy do, it's time. Obama is calling for the world to unite against this threat. I don't see anyone rallying, do you?

I voted for George W. Bush. He, for the most part, was a good president. He took 9/11 seriously and to his heart. He blew it on the finances of his term. He did not veto spending bills. He was the one that began this bailout hysteria. I am sad that he did it. He could have vetoed and stopped it all. Then it would have been in the liberals laps plus set a precedence to not continue.

Obama is claiming that he inherited this. True, he has to a point. Some will buy this line, others will not. He has had the power to issue an Executive Order, allowing US Taxpayer money go towards the research using embryo stem cells. He has issued, from what I understand, several EOs that we have not been told. He has had the power of the pen to do whatever he wants since 1/20/2009.

He has had the power to stop the bailouts but he has not done it. He prefers to take control of the banks, the car companies and next will be the health care. He should tell the truth and take responsibility for what he has done.

Stop blaming the last administration. It's your responsibility now, President Obama. You are destroying hope and changing in the wrong direction!

Dejunking is Freeing....Continues

For more years than I would like to count, I have made a New Years resolution to loose weight. For more years than I would like to count, I've not stuck with that resultion. So, this year, I refused to make it yet again just to fail one more time.

I took inventory of things I could do to change the stress in my life. I looked around and realized, "Hey, you have alot of junk in this house."

What is junk? Stuff you do not or have not used in years. Stuff you have but hate to dust. Stuff that is chipped or broken. Stuff that does not fit. Stuff you could live without.

My resolution for this year was to 'rid' my life of 1/2 of all the junk we own, including the ATTIC stash.

Slowly but surely, bit by bit, because I am struggling with a difficult on the job injury, I am chipping away at that resolution. My youngest son, has been a big help. He has done the lifting and the hauling. I do not do anything that I cannot do, which is very different for years of living. I would push myself, working harder than many men. No longer.

I have found that removing stuff that I do not need, is very FREEING. Is that a word?

Anyhow, it is. It's as if I can breathe a bit better. My mind is a bit clearer. Life is calmer. Who would have thought years of stuff could effect a body in such a way? Plus, I am de-junking more than 1/2.

Tonight, my husband and son put what is left, repacked, fewer, and marked, back, into the attic. Most of it was Christmas decorations, which were thinned out and repacked, too! Instead of several truck loads of stuff, we are down to less than a pick up load.

Congratulations to me!!!
