Well, it's time for another money saving tip. I'm just hit and missing on this blog because I am one busy person. Retirement is not a boring time in one's life.
This money saving tip is something everyone should do. Here it is:
Plan for retirement!!!
Don't assume it will be okay.
Put away every dime you can.
Social Security does not make one social or secure. So, don't count on it.
Join your 401-K and give the max.
Sign up for life insurance for your family, especially for your wife so she can keep her house, etc.
There is a story in the Holy Bible about the ant. The ant works all summer to put away food for the winter. It's the perfect example of preparing for retirement.
Why am I suggesting this money saving tip? Because we were not prepared. The Hubbie was in ministry for 30 years. We lived on little. Thing is, we have little to live on now.
So, work and work and save and save. If you have little to live on now, don't expect to have enough to live on later because it will not happen unless someone leaves you a boat load of cash or you win the lottery.
I think that sums it up.
Live and learn from the mistakes of others.
Live on one salary, pay yourself, sell things on the side, save, save, save. So you will have, have, have.
Simple.
